OXO OTT is the Digital Asset Management system designed by Oxobox and optimized to handle all Netflix Preferred Vendor services.
.
Oxo OTT is a cloud Digital Asset Management platform integrated with Netflix’s new Backlot through a full implementation of its API, which means that it covers all your internal needs to handle media and subtitles that interact with Backlot in order to get and input data related with the assignments and deliveries, and at same time, it keeps track of your internal process in the work in progress stages.
From new assignments to the final delivery, covering all communication, media and metadata needs for conforming, localizing, doing work in progress, do the final deliveries, billing your services, and archiving tasks.
Netflix’s Backot is focused on Netflix’s needs. Oxo OTT takes the ideal approach in order to complete the full set of data that your NPFP company needs to measure and charge to your clients for each job
OXO OTT integrates Backlot’s functions with other set of data that your Company needs as an NPFP. (I.E, runtime, the internal flow details, communicaction between your employees and third parties, plus comments from Backlot with the content specialist).
That way, the sharing and completion of all the data necessary to conduct your tasks in both enviroments is easily reflected by two different panels: one for the request status of Netflix’s Backlot and another one for the asset status inside your internal flow.
This allows the level of completion of your employees and third parties to have the necessary granularity between each one of Netflix’s request status.
Just as on the new Backlot, you can control your employees, free lancers and third parties through OXO OTT. You simply need to select the assets that they will need to work on, look for the “Share” option on the right click menu and pick your vendors from a list of users. The same steps can be followed to share assets inside of your own company, or the admin of each group can manage the employees’ accounts so they have new jobs automatically assigned to them.
All kind of files, as AV muxed, timed text and audio can be processed as standard packages or IMF. Assets are listed, related and marked with a colored flag status that is showed as part of a flow, where different users have exclusive permission to open/edit only the right version of the file assigned under certain status condition. Each time an operator puts an eye or picks an asset, the Netflix Request ID and all the related metadata is the compass that your team will share along all the flow of a project. Your team will take, complete and verify tasks under a strong method that minimize human errors. By performing a simple search on OXO OTT, you can filter your assets and work on each project, allowing to track the progress for each package, make reports and eventually, close the project with an invoice for all your NPFP services.
Each one of this status change event can be used to automatically share assets with other users or locations, and set view/edit permissions.
Only light blue assets are allowed to be delivered to other servers, meanwhile inside OTT all the metadata values is freezed.
The rejected assets are tracked in a way that can reflect the Redelivery Request from Netflix backlot and also your own internal rejections. Allowing to feed a metric performance system and view the historial of causes of fails and the involved resources on one asset life cicle.
Once the AV Muxed is in Netflix’s hands, Backlot generates a proxy video file. At this point, that proxy will be synchronized with OXO OTT, where you will have access to its final version.
Whenever you need further assistance from your Content Specialists, you can easily reach out to the them via the comment section in OXO OTT, which automatically uploads and saves your full message history.
You can hover over an asset without opening it and quickly check the last message in a conversation.
With every new assignment, the Material Status of each asset will be automatically marked as “Not received”. Once you upload the content you will be working on to OXO OTT, the Material Status will automatically change to “Received”. Also, in case you forgot to declare the Material Status, the delivery action will trigger a change in that field of the form, turning it to “Accepted”. This way, you will never be allowed to complete a delivery without filling this field out, a safety measure that preserves your metrics. In the same way, the delivery will never go through if the Service Type field is empty.
On the old Backlot, the only option for delivering material was the human handling of the Aspera client, which was later substituted by the drag and drop method, that remains as the only delivery method on the new Backlot. In these cases, the possibility of committing a human mistake is highly present. With OXO OTT and its fully integrated API, it is impossible to deliver the wrong file for a Request ID. One asset in OXO OTT corresponds to one and only one asset on Netflix’s Backlot. The transfer speed in OXO OTT is parametrized in steps of 10 Mb/s and up to 1000 Mb/s.
Each time you receive a Redelivery Request, the rejected asset will turn red. On OXO OTT, there is a specific section to handle deliveries, which stores all the data related to files, dates, destination folders and rejection reasons.
The Redelivery Request of a file remains as a stain on the asset interface. These delivery instances are related to their respective assets in OXO OTT, where, of course, the logged actions of all team members are registered. This is highly useful for feedback and project management decisions.
Most of the metadata Redelivery Requests refer to issues that can be solved by resending the correct description of the missing data for each kind of Source Type. OXO OTT offers specific commands to validate channel mapping for audio before delivery, as well as timed-text timing reference, and eventually correct and resend them.
When your company finalizes a job assigned from Netflix’s Backlot, and in order to prepare an invoice, OXO OTT can help you to group all related assets that share data from the Backlot and combine them with data customized in OXO OTT without missing a single item.
For example, it is possible to do a right click command over one AV Muxed request and export an Excel file that lists every asset related to that request, such as subs, forced narratives and audio dubs (reflecting the package ID), Original Title, Content Partner, due date, Source Type, Source Language, Service Type, runtime and notes. This even includes your internal costs and third parties fees for that project, which can be integrated into a single report.
Oxo OTT platform can ingest and preview IMF files by literally connect via API, downloading ZIP, un zipping them, combine the unzipped items in an Asset, take the essences out that ZIP package, physically trimming them off and bundling a new SMPTE App 2E package.” It have a sort of CPL editor that can make a brand new trimmed package with the CPL, PKL, OPL and relationing secondaries assets as well.
When we found that the API don’t have a call, our approach is built a PARSE to help the PM to control the data adquition and control the tasks.
Shared content is a great example since their download page expires after 48 hours. With an Oxo Parse function we capture all the data of this web page and automatically launch differents tasks inside Oxo OTT.
Package Player / editor is a new functionality module to control related asset packages, which allows us to quickly visualize any anomaly in the package’s items and eventually edit or fix it.
Since the Netflix API integration, we started using Subcontracting calls to control providers from all over the world.
Controlling the quality of a localization project in multiple languages is a task that didn’t have PM tools and comprehensive management until now.
All the solved infrastructure to resolve cloud app running in clusters of server, with the fastest internet speed, plus a direct contact with the founders and developers for the best maintenance.
